From humble beginnings.....

So here are the basic beginnings of my 2007 personal interest project for my studies in "Society and Culture" for the HSC. I had been flirting with many ideas of what I could do my PIP on over the last 48 hours but nothing had jumped out at me until today when I started to think about "GOD" and religion and I thought back to an amazing book I read recently called "The God Delusion" by acclaimed Oxford Biologist Richard Dawkins.

Not only are the ideas that are featured in "The God Delusion" extremely fitting for discussions and observations within Society and Culture but on a personal level reading this book was an immensely enjoyable experience and the information within the book provided for somewhat of an epiphany for myself so I consider it fitting that I look at "The God Delusion" for inspiration for some of the ideas that I would like to manifest into my own PIP.

If you aren't familiar with Richard Dawkins he is hailed one of the most influential Scientists of our time and in the God Delusion he pushes forwards a pretty compelling case of denouncing Religion with it's faulty logic and all the suffering it causes for a improbable God.

There is ALOT of information covered in this book and it's mostly in reference to religious beliefs on a world wide scale as it inspires one to consider what the world would be like without religion?. As discussed with Brooke in class today It's now a matter of working with some of these ideas and connecting them to a smaller group that will be more available for me to reach as part of my primary research.
